Hi girls, I'm Nicole and I'm new to the board. Before I get into my question I just wanted to say that I've been reading posts for about two weeks and everyone seems really sweet. You girls have such great ideas and are all so helpful to eachother which I love. FH and I haven't set a date for the wedding yet but it will either be at the end of 2008 or beginning of 2009 so I jump back and forth between the boards lol....well anyways before I start a novel (hahaha) here is my question:
does anyone know where i can find a nice dress for my engagement party? we are having it outdoors in september. i want to look sexy without looking slutty and of course i want to be the most dressed at the party but still on the casual side....i kind of wanted something white but i'm having a hard time finding the right dress. any suggestions of where to look? i don't want anything long (tea length is the longest i want) and i don't want to look like i am going to a prom lmao....i need help!!

macys and bloomingdales have a huge selection. even arden b has some pretty cute dresses. but u cant go wrong w/ the department stores

I always liked Nicole Miller dresses and I found one that I think I am going to order. I posted it in my album. I'm really tiny (5 feet, 92 lbs) so I wanted something that would make me look 'sexy' lol and this one is tight fitting so I think it flatters my body. I tried it on in black though because they didn't have it in pink at the store. I'll have to special order it in pink :)
Now I have to find another dress or a wrap that matches this dress just in case its chilly out the day of the party. The party is September 16th, outdoors, close to the water. I'm praying for a nice and warm day but if not I want to be prepared.
If you guys have any other ideas let me know!

I did a walk through Jcpenny's today and I couldn't believe what great dresses they had. I was saying to myself.... I wish I had a party to go too.

My e-party dress wasn't white, but it was tea-length. I got it in Ask Alice in Valley Stream for $100. They have some really cute dresses!
