I don't know if we are doing e-party favors either...I wouldn't know what to give anyway...lol

But where are you having your e-party? We are torn between a house e-party in FH's backyard- he has a huge one or at an actual place!!??

We were going to do the backyard party, but we decided to just rent out a hall.

Ive been looking at favors and decent cheap ones are about $2-$3 each. I dunno if we should spend $200+ on favors. My parents said any money spent on the eparty is coming out of our wedding fund

Re: Engagement Party Favors

That is actually what i am in the process of doing, getting the favors for my eparty in 4 weeks...Well I had decided a while ago that i will give everyone a box of 2 cupcakes, i went to this bakery i know of that i love their cupcakes to see if they do large orders...Well the guy said since i am getting such a large order he will work with me on the price and give each cupcake to me for less than his regular selling price...Normally they are $1.50-$2.00 so i can probably get them for about $1.00 each...I am gonna buy pink favor boxes and tie it with brown ribbon...You can do just that if you want...I also want to give them something else so now its a toss up between mini champagne or wine bottles to go with it, gonna go to the liquor store to see how much they would charge me...If not we were also looking at cordial glasses, or maybe candles...but i would prefer cupcakes and champagne or wine.

Another suggestion given to me was to buy Lindt box chocolates, it comes with 4 truffles...A bunch of people i know went to an event that did this and they loved it.

ahhh i don't know but if you go to the store you can get them for a better price since you are buying in bulk...Search online and see how much they are...I can try to find out and see if these people know the price

Ive been to a lot of engagement parties where they gave their STD's out with something small...or seasonal... like a carmel covered apple or something

We were going to do that, but I read on here that you shouldnt send out the STD's more than a year in advance.

You kinda have to have favors. Even if they are small and one per couple.

Im debatinf the same thing. I work for a liquor CO. and I can get full bottles of wine at cost and still its getting too expensive. But I did find a web site for favors ALOT of them are cheesy BUT I did find these coasters that you can put your pic or something else in and I have a set from C&B and they look identical and there cheap but dont look it.

favorwarehouse.com

Lokk around the site maybe there will be something else. But these seemed to be the nicest thing. I just might do it myself.

Re: Engagement Party Favors

FH went to school for being a pastry chef...and he does the coolest chocolate molds. We were able to find a small Cinderella slipper one (Disney is our theme). We are also thinking of filling them with the M&M's with our names on them or the wedding ones, depending on how expensive they are. Honestly it doesnt look that hard at all and it can be pretty cheap to do the chocolate molds. We are giving them out as favors and we also found carriage shaped lollipop molds so he's doing that too. We are using white chocolate and a blue tinted chocolate. I think its a good idea and price isnt bad!

How far back do you think your e-party will be now? I'm sorry...that stinks

Re: Engagement Party Favors

We had to move it back because after we finally THOUGHT we picked a date that everyone could come to.....my parents couldnt come haha

So now we are going to try and do a Saturday in May. But I only have one Saturday free and thats the day before Mothers day. Do you think people will still party the day before Mothers day? Because I know we usually wake up early and go to breakfast or something and I wouldnt want to be hungover and tired

haha

That's funny cause the day Fh and I were thinking about scheduling an e-part my mom was like 'Well would you like the parents of the bride to be, be able to attend?' hehe the weekend we choose is the weekend my parents are going on vacation with my younger brothers and sister.

So now we are thinking middle of June instead of the last weekend in June- still nothing planned as of yet cause I don't know where to have it and how much $$ we want to spend ANY SUGGESTIONS IS A GREAT HELP

and I don't know anyone in a fire house unfortunately cause the person I thought could help- he is now a FDNY...so I am not going into the city for my e-party

Re: Engagement Party Favors

If you have it in June you should just have it in a backyard and rent a big tent.

Thanks for the idea. I think that is what we might do. The only thing is I want to only invite the people who are going to be in the BP and my first cousins, aunts uncles on my side (cause I got a big family)- same on his side and then some friends.

However I am not inviting a lot of my little cousins...our age limit for the wedding is 18 yrs old. However if we have a e-party in the FILs yard and not start it until like 5:30-6pm do you think its ok to just have those people and ask the family members who have the little kids (that arent coming to the wedding) to not bring them-- specifiy it on the invitiation who is invited??

I just feel my family will think- BBQ OK everyone goes...lol meanwhile we just want to have it catered so we dont need to cook or anything

rent some tables, got a tent already and have fun...

what do you guys think??

Re: Engagement Party Favors

We are in the same situation. We are not having kids at the eparty because the guestlist will just be out of control then. The family members I talked to were actually telling me not to invite the kids, so I dont feel as bad now that we cant have them.
