My FH and I are looking to have an engagement party at a place where we can bring our own food and drinks. I think most VWF and American Legions have you buy drinks through them, but I heard firehouses let you bring your own. Does anyone know if firehouses let outside people rent their room if you're not affiliated? If so, do you know how much it usually is?

I believe they do. Call your local firehouse & ask. I guess it also depends on the room they have too

i believe you have to at least be sponsored by a member of the firehouse in order to get a party there.

My friend had her e-party at one. It was BYOB/Wine... I do not think she knew anyone from the firehouse either! I think it was in Bayville???

It depends on the town. My dad is in Baldwin and you have to have an immediate relative in it. Other towns do rent out to 'outsiders' Oceanside will rent to anyone and I believe so will Bellmore.
