Engagement Party Gift ideas???

Can you ladies please help me?
What was the most original gift that you recieved for your engagement party or bridal shower?
A long time friend of mine recently got engaged and I would like to give them a heart felt gift. Thank you for your help!

Here is the thing.

Getting gift you didnt ask for (and cant return) is burdensome.

So the good news is your not asking about something like that.....

1. Do they have a favorite beer, drink, wine? Mayebe a wine tasting and limo to the North Fork. We went to Duck walk vinyard and had a blast.

2. Are they religious? Would a cross for the house be meaningful? I am Jewish and its so easy to get a meaningful piece of judaica.

3. Do they have a musician they love? Concert tickets?

4. Picknick basket in the park?

how much are you looking to spend? what do they like to do? maybe a gc to dinner at a nice restaurant? umm or you could do a weekend away for them at a bed and breakfast-something romantic..

Don't know what you're looking to spend, but for my best friend's e-party, I bought her the Swarovski toasting flutes.
