engagement party help

Hi girls, need advice,

We were all set to have our Eparty in January at FILs house, but FMIL is not comfortable with 20+ people coming over to the house (she is not comfortable with the way it looks right now)

So I need a fairly reasonably priced place to have an E-party. How much do the KoC halls cost, or is it better to go to a restaurant after the food and the rental fee?

TIA girls!!!

we did a restaurant and it worked out great bc we didnt want it to be a mini wedding and cared a lot about the food. we were able to have the whole restaurant to ourselves bc of the # of people we had

I would suggest a restaurant, only because at a KOC hall--you have to set up everything and clean up everything yourself
Plus if you have it catered and alcohol---by the time you are said and done, I think it would be around the same if you would book a restaurant

If you like Chinese food, The Orchid in Garden City is where we had our engagment party. They party menus that start at a reasonable price. If I remember, correctly, they even had a lunch menu for about $15 dollars per person. We paid about 45 dollars per person which included beer/wine/unlimited soda and we upgraded a bunch of the dishes but I know they can put together a party for a reasonable price.

HTH!!

I would look into a restaurant, it will probably be much cheaper than renting a place. Just call them up and ask what they have to offer or just stop by and most of them will give you there menu's and tell you price per head. Good luck

I would think a restaurant is the way to go...that ay you just have to show up and not worry about anything. You could even do a brunch to cut costs. Milk and Sugar is a nice place and Sweetwaters just to throw out some ideas.
Good luck!

We are looking to have 25 people, including us. I was hoping to do it at someones house so I could make the food and stuff, set up a small bar with liquor we already own, and get a cake from the bakery our RH uses, so we were looking to spend around 200, which you cant do at a restaurant, especially if you want to have liquor (really dont want to, but with our friends and family, its a must)

This is why I am at a loss. I checked some of the restaurants, and it would be around 600 for the event, which we dont have to spend.

Thats why I was wondering about a KoC or if you can have a party at a community center, and bring your own food and beverages
