Engagement Party Help - VFW HALLS/AMERICAN LEGION

I am new to this website and I really need some help finding a venue for an engagement party. We are looking for something inexpensive (paying for the engagement party ourselves) and would ideally like to have a Saturday night party at a VFW or American Legion Hall in Queens or Nassau. My problem is that when I search online it is extremely overwhelming, I find some names of places but no real information, some of the venues don't even have websites. Before I call all of these different places I was wondering if anyone had any kind of list with pricing information for these types of halls. I would love some help, thanks!!!

Oceanside KOC is nice also I think seafood has a nice one. Maybe give them a call, we had the same issue when we were looking for a hall.

I've had multiple family parties as well as FH's surprise 30th at the American Legion in RVC and it was awesome! The place itself is really nice and the guy, Joe, was a pleasure to work with. The hall rental was $500 for 4 hours and $100 of it was refunded at the end of the night, but keep in mind that it doesn't include anything except the hall. Overall, the party didn't hurt my account too much because I bought everything gradually over the course of a year. It did end up costing me almost 3K because there were about 100 people, so had I realized that from the beginning I would have just had it at a restaurant where I didn't have to clean up at the end!
