We had an engagment party.. it was so much fun!!! We had a dj, we got it catered, just italian food, and a hero for the kids.. these were our favors, and our cake.. just have fun, and celebrate.. also my MOH had a slide show of me and fi growing up.. I CRIED!!!!

What a yummy looking cake!!! I wanted to do a slide show at the wedding so I will save that. I am also thinking hero's and my grandma wants to do all the cooking. It might be in a small hall. A guest list of about 65. I was thinking of having a cake with our picture put on it...too chessy?

By the way...Congrats...exactly one year to go! Thanks for your help!

No that's adorable.. my friend made that cake for us.. I LOVE HERO..lol.. that's what I had for dinner.. the slide show was great.. we had about 50 people, and we had such a nice time.. we just invited our bridal party and close friends.. anything you do will be great, it's nice to get everyone together..

we might have a cake with our pic on it as well....haven't decided. Our e party will be in June...when the weather is nice! JZNCK I LOVE your favors...they are so adorable!

For our engagement party, we used the 'perfect pear' theme. We had perfect pear invitations and thank you cards, which we ordered from psaessenstials.com. And for our favors, we gave little pear salt and pepper shakers. It was such a cute theme. If you go to the above listed website, you'll find other cute themes as well.

when is it too late to have an engagement party?? my sister is getting married in may and my father wants to throw us one this summer and we got engaged in october.. we aren't getting married until october '05.. does this sound silly?

we just booked our e-party today!!! april 24th!!
No theme....for favors we're making chocolate lollipops. One in the shape of a wedding cake and the other of a bride and groom. I'm going to stick them in one of the tin painted flower pots so they look like flowers. Those will be my centerpieces.

Unicorn... Not at all, I got engaged in Oct '03 and am not getting married until Dec'05 and we are having the eparty this memorial day weekend.

Hey,
Our Engagement party theme was gambling cause we got engaged in Vegas. Everything was red, our favors were decks of cards that said 'Lucky in Love', we had a cake shaped like cards and we spread chocolate poker chips on the tables.

I've been to three other engagement parties. Two had no theme, just one particular color, and the giveaways were chocolates and candles. Another I went to had a fall theme with fall flower centerpieces, leaf votive candles and they put their chocolate favors in a big cornocopia (sp?). They also gave out little bottles of Sutter Home wine with their own labels printed out and stuck on the back.

We had our engagement party last summer. We had about 80 people at Timber Point Country Club in Great River. We had a Sunflower theme. I hand painted terra cotta pots and placed gardening moss inside with a votive candle. I then wrapped them in tule and tied them with a sunflower. FM me if you have any questions!!!! Anyone have any speeches or toasts? My family is extemely sentimental and we haven't had a family wedding a long time so they want it to be very emotional.
