Okay so my FH and I want to have a small engagement party. We are thinking immediate family and bridal party which would be around 40 people. can anyone suggest a good place for that. If possible I would like to have a private room.

I think the Milleridge Carriage House might be perfect for something like that!

Re: Engagement party places
I am having mine at Verdi's of Westbury, and we are having about 135 people, but they have smaller rooms and their prices were really reasonable.

Peppercorns in Hicksville. It's like a steakhouse type of place and very pretty. The upstairs room is roomy and veryyy nice. Check it out.

shandon court in e.islip is really nice. MOB was going to have ours there, but weve decided on a VFW hall to cut costs (we are having ~100 ppl)

Re: Engagement party places
we had our engagement party brunch at mim's in roslyn heights (they also have a location in syosset).
it was before they opened on a sunday, so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves.
they were great!

Re: Engagement party places
Well, my for my sister- we had a shower with about 75 people. It was a brunch and was about 1500. And, another relative of mine had a party there with an open bar in the evening with about 50 people for about 3000. My mother got a better deal for my sister's shower though. She haggled and haggled until she got the price she wanted. They are very open to being reasonable.
