My family wants to throw me one and I defentially know who my maid of honor is though I haven't asked her yet. I'm not sure if I'm even going to have a bridal party yet and if I did, I didn't plan on asking anyone until the end of summer. My engagement party was gonna be family mostly anyway. My fh got asked to be a groomsman in a wedding and he wasn't even invited to the engagement party I don't feel like having to rush now and pick the bridal party this month. Do I need to pick my entire bridal party before an engagement party?

Re: Engagement Party Question
I don't think it matters. You can ask after the party. Enjoy your engagement and def have a party! No matter what, everyone is going to be happy for you.

Re: Engagement Party Question
You dont have to - they dont have a specific role during the engagement party so you still have time. I would do it 8-12 months before your actual wedding.

Re: Engagement Party Question
Just enjoy yourself. I think if you know the MOH and BM then you're set. You only 'need' 2 witnesses. See what happens as time passes and then make your choices post party. My FH is still on the fence about including cousin A over Cousin B and to what extent to involve Cousin C.

You don't need to have your BP picked by the time of your Engagement party, you can pick your BP whenever you want. Its better not to rush that decision

Re: Engagement Party Question
i asked my MOH (my sister) i think a week after the engagement because i need her help with everything. however i didn't ask the bridesmaids until this January. (10 months after our engagement)
FH still hasn't asked a bestman or the groomsmen yet. he is waiting till the last possible moment. he told the people he is considering but wants to wait to make sure there are still close friends before making such a big decision

Re: Engagement Party Question
you def dont have to ask your bridal party yet! most say to wait anyway cuz you never know what could happen with friendships etc, but its completely up to you

Re: Engagement Party Question
nope...we had a family only engagement party so i didn't have to worry about that. Even if you have friends at the party, there is no need to pick the bridal party before it.
