its really up to you and ultimately whoevers paying for the party,
but for mine we had immediate family, aunts n uncles and adult first cousins, and bridal party....thats all. it was still about 60 people and thats all my parents could afford.

Re: Engagement Party Question
It's really up to you - whoever you want to be there. At ours, we had our families, wedding party and some other close friends. It went from having a small party to 80 people. Good Luck.

Re: Engagement Party Question
thanks! we are having it at like a vfw so it's just the amount for the place and you can have as many people and then we are having catering.

Re: Engagement Party Question
We had a pretty small e-party. It was immediate family, BP (and spouses), a few other very close friends not in BP, a few of our parents closest friends, our godparents, and a couple (but not all) of FH's cousins.
In total, we had 50 people.

Re: Engagement Party Question
We paid for our party our selves-had a BBQ instead of a formal dinner. We had family and friends. Anywhere between 50 & 60 people.

Re: Engagement Party Question
My FMIL is throwing the party and so we are doing our aunts and uncles, grandparents, and our immediate families only. No cousins. The complaining still hasn't stopped from my family . I think it is really up to whoever is throwing the party. If it's you guys throwing it, do whatever you like. HTH!

Re: Engagement Party Question
It's COMPLETELY up to you. Normally it is close family and your bridal party. For mine I had our aunts and uncles, first cousins, bridal party and just a FEW close friends were invited. Try to keep in small and simple. You don't want the engagement party to over do the wedding.

Re: Engagement Party Question
Its really up to you. My engagemant party was 70 people, and it was at a restaurant.
It was very hard for me to narrow it down, because I wanted my friends and family there to celebrate with us!
Kinda went with the idea that its our only engagement party, why not have who we want!
