New here! FH and I got engaged in June, and we're having an engagement party in August. It's going to be a relatively big party, around 100 people, and I was wondering if I should ask the people I have in mind for the bridal party before the engagement party or after. I have already asked my two Matron of Honors, but he hasn't asked his two best men yet. Should we ask everyone before or no?

We got engaged in Sept 09. Had our engagement party in January. We had already asked our whole bridal party and had them all wear the same color so it was known they were a part of our bridal party at the party. It worked out really well.

Thank you to everyone that has responded! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that hasn't asked yet! I think I might ask them, just because it's hard for me to keep it to myself for much longer! I thought the idea of having them wear the same color was such a awesome idea! I may have to think of something creative like that.

I really want to ask my BP before our party which is in August....

ITA!!!!! At first i wanted to wait until January to ask.(1 yr before the wedding) but now I'm pretty much set on asking all of the BP before the e party.

ive also got engaged in june and i only asked a couple of my BM but i was planning on finalizing it all at my e-party as well as FH was planning on doing the same..
i dont think its a big deal when you tell them whether before or after!
