is a year before the wedding to late to have 1? we never wanted 1 but now we want a bbq or keg party in the summer which is why we didn't do it this past summer.
if i do it this summer, i'm at the year mark for the wedding. too late to have 1? it's not gonna be anything fancy.....it's seriously more for the whole bridal party to meet and some of John's family and mine (majority live in SC and won't come up).
thoughts?

a year before is not too close...any later than that and it might not be a good idea. I dont see why you cant have a bbq in honor of your engagement the summer before...

last year for Xmas andy took me to mystic for the weekend, at the aquarium there they have all sorts of different programs where you can learn about different animals....so he signed me up for the penguin contact program and i got to learn about them, hear the heartbeat, touch their fins and feet....it was amazing. seriously, i had tears in my eyes bc it was a dream come true.

i think its totally fine to have an eparty over the summer! rule of thumb is, as long as its a year before the wedding youre good to go!
we had ours in my parents backyard.. it started off as a super casual thing... next thing we knew.. it was catered, top shelf bar, tent, photographer, etc etc... we had a blast though!!!! i loved every second of it.. some people in the family are still raving about it! they even said it was better than some weddings they have been to!
BTW... i better be invited if its a kegger!

i used to be a member of the Bronx zoo... and even did volunteer work there when i was younger. i have a strange obsession with tigers and i always wanted to work with them. i was able to pet the face of a tiger for a good 45 seconds. it was so scary, so exciting... so awesome!! my heart was racing like a maniac.
i have also 'pet' a penguin... and they are cool little animals.

about a year ago, andy and i went to the bronx zoo...i hadn't been there in years, we spent a good hour trying to find the penguin pavillion!
