Hello, My fiancée and I are trying to find a location to do our engagement shoot. We have no idea on locations but since our wedding will be in the fall of '15 we were thinking of a barn shoot out east but our photographer said normally you have to know the barn owner. So if anyone has any suggestion please?? We have to decide within the next week or two at most.

We are doing ours at the planting field in oyster bay, however you need to go and get a permit to do so and its $100

Look into Frank Melville park in Setauket. I know 2 people that did pics there. It has a rustic feel and also a small red barn

Hallockville in Jamesport. There is a fee though to shoot there. I think they told us $150. We were going to do it, but didn't want to pay the fee. We did take some at a barn on the side of the road in Cutchogue without permission, of course I was freaking out because I didn't want to get in trouble! My sister just had my niece's birthday shoot taken at Martha Clara when they were closed and didn't have to pay a fee, she just called and asked permission. They didn't go too into the winery, just on the outskirts- but the photos came out really cute! Edit: There were a few shots with a barn in the background. Maybe check them out!!

We did ours at Brooklyn Bridge Park last October...came out really nice we did a lot of pictures on cobblestone streets near there, carousel, and by the bridge

Check out Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great River. I took my engagement photos there, they have a bunch of older/rustic buildings, on the water and tons of beautiful trees/flower, lots of options and there's just a parking fee. I have an album of e-shoot pics from there if you're interested!

We are doing ours at the Old Field Light House in Setauket then going to West Meadow, they have rustic looking houses there. Our photographer also mentioned Frank Melville Park as well, but we will see how much time we have.

If your wedding is on the fall what about a pumpkin patch? We did ours on the bike path behind Massapequa train station. The woods, lake and bridges made for a great FREE lol background.

Ok so we talked with our photographer more today and have decided on frank Melville park. It has the woodsy rustic feeling we want. Thanks for the advice everyone!

My friend did hers in mill pond park, they have a red barn. You can also try the Queen County Museum,It's a farm.

Avalon Park in Stonybrook. I am pretty sure they have a barn all the way up.
