Engagement Photos

Has anyone had an engagement photo shoot done? My photographer offers one and I was wondering if it was worth having it done. Any thoughts?

Engagement Photos- Its worth it just my opinion

For a few reasons: *It will get you and FI used to 'working with' the photographer. *The photos may show you you 'good side' so you'll know wath to stay away from in your formal wedding shots * If you are doing a makeup trial the same day - you get a real picture of it. * Its nice to have some good photos in a casual setting As I said - just my opinion

Engagement Photos

Have to agree with Fran. It great to work with your photographer & see the work he does, as well as what works for you. For instance, our photographer took some photos with the 'soft lens' on (sorry - don`t know what it`s called, but it makes the edges look a little fuzzy) and we disliked the effect. now we know NOT to use that lens at our wedding. Plus, our parents were thrilled to have some casual professional photos, and it`s also helpful if you plan on announcing the engagement in your local newspaper. We were so happy we did it (and originally planned on not doing it).

I agree with everyone who said it is a good opportunity to get to know your photographer, and to get used to working together. Thanks to the poster who suggested having a makeup trial on the same day... I'm definitely going to do that! My engagement photo session is on April 9th. We'll be doing some pictures in the studio, some at a park, and some on the beach. I'm so excited, I can't wait!
