Hi Ladies,

My FH and I are getting married on 11-1-15. We decided to get engagement pictures done for our STD's. However, we are unsure of when to take them? Some sites say 6 months prior, others say 8 months. What do you ladies think?

I'm getting married May of 2016 and have already taken my engagement pics. I think it's really up to you. You could wait if you want a specific season or something but I personally like to do everything early. Just leave yourself enough time to get the pics back, find a STD card you like & time to receive the cards

I am getting married may 2015 and I am doing them next week but only because I wanted fall pictures.If you want pictures for the save the dates then you can get them done prior to that.

We did ours about 10 months before our wedding. We wanted spring/early summer pictures so we did them at that time. If you plan on using them for your save the date, I would say you should do them in the next few months.

We did ours in September and the wedding is next October. You can really take them whenever you want.

Our wedding is July 2015 and we took ours last Sunday. We would've much rather taken it when it was warmer since I'm always freezing, but we didn't have a photographer then. But Fall is still a beautiful season for pics. It's totally up to you guys when you want to do it though :)
