For the ladies who had their engagement photo shoot what advice/tips would you offer to someone going for them? Anything you wish you would have known? Anything you did know and can share? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Engagement Photos Advice
Difficult question but I'll try.
Be ready to go from the start. The shoot only lasts a little while. (ours actually lasted 2 hours or so). At the end is when I started to feel more relaxed about poising, kissing for shots etc.
Look through some of the girls engagement shots to get ideas of poises so you can get more than kissing, looking at eachother, nibbling on the ear etc.
I personally bought a new outfit and jacket which I love. It was 100% worth it.
This may sound weird. Although your nails will be perfect make sure your FH's are filed, cut etc. We had some close hand shots and I was happy I harrassed FH : )
Good luck and remember it's fun!!!

Re: Engagement Photos Advice
We haven't taken ours yet - but what I have heard the most is that you should dress normally and comfortably.
I have also heard that you should splurge and get you hair and/or makeup done.
HTH!

Re: Engagement Photos Advice
Keep the advice coming =) I appreciate it! My pics are tomorrow and we were hoping for beach pics but I dont know whats going to happen weather wise! Please pray for good weather tomorrow ladies!!!!!!!!!
Im getting my hair done but Im going to do my own makeup. I hear a lot of have fun with it and try to enjoy it. And Im dressing comfortably but nice. and he is dressing the same, comfortable but nice and in something that matches to the color Im wearing. Im wearing a nice coral shirt and hes got a nice grey shirt as well as nice striped one to change. I have like 3-4 different pairs of shoes just in case cause I dont know what is going to happen with the weather like I said.
Anything else ladies? Ive been looking at engagement photos all week LOL

Re: Engagement Photos Advice
be yourself. i know that might sound simple but i wouldn't go over board with make up or hair if you are a simple kind of girl, for me i wear my hair up every day and no make up, so when i took my pics it was weird looking at the pics cause it just wasn't me ? if that make sense

Re: Engagement Photos Advice
This is advice I received from my epic photographer that is very helpful
Because these images are designed to showcase YOU and not your clothes, here are some clot hing tips: - Avoid logos, numbers, lettering and words on your clothing - Wear what you usually wear – this is not the time to try out a new style, which could make you feel uncomfortable - Stay away from loud stripes, busy patterns and plaid – go for texture instead - Avoid too much contrast between the two of you, i.e. your white blouse, his black shirt - Select colors that go well together - Have multiple changes of clothes – different looks, formal, casual, etc. Bring 2-3 outfits for each wardrobe change. We will help you choose the most flattering outfits so you will look fabulous in the photos for years to come. We usually shoot 2-3 different outfits depending on how fast we’re moving. Also try to avoid short sleeves (i.e. cap sleeves or tank tops) as the upper arms tend to photograph wider than they are in real life. - Feel free to bring some small props – items that are meaningful to you are cool! - Bring some mints if you wish – but no gum! - To avoid unsightly bulges and creases, don’t put too much stuff in your pockets - If you want to wear heels for the photos but do not want to walk all day in them, I suggest bringing them in a bag so you can easily change to them whenever you’re ready to shoot. Hair and Make-up Tips: - Have your hair and make-up done before the session begins - Now is not the time to try something completely different! Stick with comfortable hair and make-up styles - Bring a small touch-up kit: hair spray, gel, lipstick/gloss, etc. You usually will be kissing at some point of the shoot so make sure to have something you can easily apply or won’t smear. - Use lotion on your hands, make sure your hands and nails are well manicured - If Murphy’s Law reigns supreme and you break out or have blemishes – don’t worry and don’t try to cover it up! I can retouch your images and remove the nefarious zits!

Re: Engagement Photos Advice
I would say to just relax and be yourself, be cute and cudly. Wear something comfortable with no crazy patterns or logos.
