Engagement Pics

Hi all! I'm looking to get engagement pics and was wondering what an approximate price ranges is? FH and I are in a small part of NC and there are only a couple photographers around and we feel like the quotes are high but maybe I just have no clue!! Basically we just want a few nice pics on a disc to make our own save the dates. So far we've been quoted $650 for an hour session and a disc (I think high resolution) with NO editing. The no editing is what concerns me. Editing is $100/hr. Is that high, average, low??

Thanks!!!

Re: Engagement Pics

I know my photographer charges $250 for the engagement picture. I don't know what it exactly includes because we are going through a teacher I work with to give her more stuff for her portfolio (she does a lot of family portraits and stuff and is looking to branch out).

Hi Chrissy!!!

I dont know about pricing for just engagement shots, but our photography package included them with a 11x14 and a edited disk will all the rights to our pictures. I know your out of state so Im assuming the person doing your pics for the wedding wont be doing them for the engagement shoot. I will look at my stuff tonight and see what my photographer chargers for just engagement shots and this way you can have an idea on pricing at least.

HTH! and tty soon

Thank you!!!!!

Do you know if editing is the same as retouching? I looked back at the email and that was the wording they actually used....they said the pictures would be 'enhanced' but not retouched.
