I dont think LIW accepts BMP, no need to rescan, where do you have it saved, in your scanner folder or your My Pictures?

1. If it is in your scanners folder, export it to your MY pictures, and you'll be able to change it to a jpg, then LIW will accept it.

Depending on a photo program you have, you should be able to change the configurations, and also save as a jpg.
