Did everyone take engagement pictures? I know a couple of people that did but my fiance and I really have no interest in spending money on that. Is it weird not to do them?

Re: Engagement Pictures?
We got them included in our photography package, but now I am having second thoughts. I am going to contact the photographer and see if we can get any upgrades to our album or package instead of taking the engagement shoot.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
They were included in our photography package for free, so we had no reason not to! We are using the pictures for our save the dates. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get to know our photographer and see what kind of work she does.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
It was included in our package. You don't have to take professional e-pics, my friend had her sister take pics of them in the park and they came out nice.
We're taking them because we want to use them for our reception for our table numbers.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
We have the actual proposal in pictures and video - we were in Key West with my parents and sister and they knew it was coming, so they were ready with their cameras. So what we have are the actual 'this is THE MOMENT' engagement pics.
If we end up getting a package where they happen to be included, then we'll totally take advantage of it. But if not, it's no big deal to me.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
were getting them because they came with our package, and i also think its a good way to meet your photographer personally and so that the photographer realizes what poses and everything work with you
but i would have got them even if i didnt get them in my package, bc i dont have many nice professional pics of me n fh

Re: Engagement Pictures?
We're only doing ephotos because they're part of our photo package. I actually like the idea because, as the photographer explained, it'll be a good opportunity for him to get a preview on how we interact and how we photograph best. Almost a rehearsal for him. I liked that idea. Especially because if I'm photographed willy-nilly, I can end up with a wicked double chin. Yuck.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
I was looking first just for e-pics not realizing that they come in almost everyone's photography package these days. It was fun, kind of a bonding experience actually, lol...you should do it!

Mine come with my package. It was either an engagment session or a 'Mess the Dress' session. I can't wait! I think I'll be doing it in June

Mine also came as part of my package. Their in my album. We're using one of the pics on our STD's. I also ordered a few prints for us, our parents, and siblings and framed them for everyone.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
Ours were included in our package however we probably would have done them anyway. They were a great way for our photographer to find out what angles are best for us. It was also great because we are very uncomfortable in front of the camera so I'm glad we did it to get it out of the way.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
We did but it came with our photg package. I like having them and it gave us a chance to work with our photog before the wedding..

Re: Engagement Pictures?
We did them because they were negotiated into our wedding package. Depending on how much they were we may have done them anyway just to see what the photographers work was like before our wedding (and then book a new one if need be) Fortunately our guy did a fantastic job.
I'm going to use the pics for our photo montage. If I had them earlier I would have also used them for the save the date.
Overally they are not necessary.. especially if you have no reason to have the picture (i.e. for the save the date) so if you don't get them its not a big deal.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
you know what, they're really not that big of a deal. Me & DH had only done them because it didn't cost any extra. But if it would have been expensive, I doubt we would have.
Honestly - I'm glad we did it though! It's really nice to have professional looking pictures other than Wedding Photographs. We used a bunch for our table numbers (rather than us just using our average everyday photos) and they looked really nice in the RH.

Re: Engagement Pictures?
my MOH took ours... I guess when we book a photog we'll have them done again. We just used ours as decoration at our engagement party. We blew one of the pictures up and put the table listing over it, that was a big hit. then the other pictures went on the gift table, the favor table and in random places around the hall. I'm happy with them.
