Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
Mine is insured through Jewelers Mutual too. But obviously it depends on the value of your ring--mine costs about $100/year.

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
One important tip that insurance agents don;t tell you .. keep in mind that what you want your appraisal for is the REPLACEMENT value NOT retail value of the ring. They will not pay you the retail value but will charge that much based on the appraisal. Little secret an insurance friend told me. The difference can be VERY substantial.

I have a beautiful engagement ring, but have not gotten any insurance on it as of yet, could someone please recommend a reasonable priced appraiser and an insurance company I could go with to obtain it. Or let me know if you think it's a waste of time.. Also, please give me prices you received for appraising your ring.
I work for insurance and can write a policy for you w/out having Homeowners or renters...no rider needed. We also tend to be a tad cheaper for the policy. FM if you'd like a quote.

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
I got mine through Chubb. It is a bit more expensive than the rest but I choose them because they cut you a check if you loose it or the stone vs most of the others that replce it for you with the closet match out there.

Jewlery Judge is great for appraisals!
Also... Chubb is an excellent company for E-Ring insurance. If you ever lose the ring... 9 times out of 10 they simply cut you a check for the appraisal value. No BS involved.
You usually pay a little extra for a Chubb plan though because its this good.
we have our ring insurance through Chubb as well. I believe for like 10k in insurance its about 275/year. We simply got an appraisal, mailed/faxed it to our broker and that was it! its soooo worth it, god forbid u lose it or it gets stolen, and it would cost a lot more to replace it!
