engagement ring sliding

engagement ring sliding

Hi Ladies,
I have a solitaire engagement ring and while it fits perfect in the summer time, it twists alot during the colder months. I don't want to get it any smaller because it will be too tight when it is warm. I've heard jewelers can put two bumps in the ring to keep it from sliding, but my jeweler says they are uncomfortable.

Any suggestions?

I have two bumps in my e-ring and it just takes time to get used to. It's not uncomfortable for me.

I had my jeweler put them in for the same reason.

Worse comes to worse if it's too uncomfortable for you, maybe you can have them removed.

I have the sizing 'bumps' in my ring and don't even feel them at all. They 100% stopped my ring from sliding and I feel sooooo much better wearing it!! If you feel them, and they're uncomfortable, they're probably too big and can be melted down a bit. They are also 100% removable at any time (by a jeweler) with no damage to your ring.

If you don't want to get it sized, the only other options I know of are those rubber sizers (that you have to replace weekly due to stretching/getting dirty) or a metal ring guard that will scratch the h*ll out of your ring!!!!

i have the balls on both my engagement ring and my wedding band! cant even tell they are there!
they only time you can tell is when i take them off, but i only take them off when i shower so its not even a big deal...
i rather feel it when i take them off the constantly fix it from spinning!

Are you sure the bumps won't make it too snug in the summer?

My ring fit perfectly in the summer. In the winter it slides a bit.

Claire's sells clear plastic ring snuggies that you can put on your ring. I use them in the winter.

I have those 'shots' or bumps on my e-ring, took a day to get used to. Now I only feel them when I take my ring on/off.

I have the two bumps on my ring and I don't feel them at all. I def think that is the way to go. It might take a few days to get used to them but its better than losing your ring. Some of my friends had their rings cut to size them and the back never looked the same. HTH

The 'bumps' inside the ring are the same as getting it sized- It makes the ring smaller. Your ring will still be tight in the summer. I had them put in my wedding band because it was made too big and I find them VERY uncomfortable especially at the end of the day.

I have the bumps and I never feel them. Even when I first got them....they have never bothered me.

I've had my promise ring re-sized twice and it cost me like $30 total.

It took all of 5 minutes both times and you can't tell the difference.

I know you said your size changes based on the weather but maybe if you just went down like half a size it would make a difference - it might be worth trying if you're worried about the bumps being uncomfy.

I had the same problem. I have 1 bump (not 2) on the inside of my band. My ring kept on sliding towards my pinky finger, so my jeweler put 1 bump toward the side closer to my pinky. My jeweler also shaved the ball down a little bit to make it more comfortable. Now the ring fits perfect!

Also I was advised NOT to get my ring re-sized because it loosens the diamonds on on the band.

I have shots and same thing in winter.
It's normal.
Big diamond is top heavy and swirls to side...
