Engagement Rings

Original post by megan2

Hi, I am in the process of selecting an engagement ring and wonder would you mind sharing as to where yours was bought? I would rather pick my own as its such a big thing and I am afraid if my boyfriend chooses I won't like it and will be stuck with it for life!!I need to actively start looking in the new year or else he is just going to go and get one!!
Any ideas?

BTW, if you want a reference name for the Blue Diamond in Cedarhurst, it's Morris Friedman. He is GIA certified, and a very honest and decent man.

Re: Engagement Rings

I've heard awesome things about goodoldgold.com
goodoldgold.com
Even though that's not where I got my ring, I know a few girls that have actually purchased from him online.
Lucky for LIers, the guy has a shop in Bellmore. From what I hear, it's worth the trip and he has a stellar reputation.

This is an awesome site to do your homework:
Diamond Talk
And you should DEFINATELY learn as much as you can before making such a major purchase and ESPECIALLY if you plan on going to the diamond district.
You can be taken advantage of, if some of those vultures even sense that you're not educated in terms of the kind of diamond you want.
Good luck!

Re: Engagement Rings

Diamond district is fine, but do not go below 47th st. As per reliable sorce that is where most of the reject diamonds end up.
