What do you girls think about the diamonds from Zales?? Please give me your honest opinions. FM if you are shy

I happen to know someone who sells the diamonds to Zales. They arent bad. Just know they mark things up big time.

My best friend's ring is from Zales and she's had no problem.

However, they once sold my mother a 'platinum' ring that broke twice as I wore it to class for a year. You know class. It's really stressful on a piece of jewelry.

They then replaced it with a chipped sapphire in a white gold ring.

You could win, you could lose.

my dad and i went there to check out rings for my mom's anniversary band...and i just didn't think the quality of some of the diamonds was worth the asking price. sometimes they have good deal...but from what i saw i wasn't too impressed

Most of their diamonds are not certified and those few that are, are priced up because they are certified. You could probably negotiate price but its just better to price around.

I was actually looking for rings in Fortune Off but someone told me to check out zales as well. I decided to go yesterday, but I wasn't impressed at all. Maybe it was just the store at Smithhaven mall. To me the quality wasn't that great.
This is just my opinion, and I hope I didn't offend anyone!

My wedding band is from Fortunoff's, and it's in good condition still. Actually, it's in better condition than the Christian Bernard E-ring.

My E-Ring is from Zales Outlet in Riverhead. I LOVE my ring, and when it was appraised, the diamond was a great quality and the price was right on vs. the appraisal. They have beautiful things in the outlet center!!!

I would never buy a diamond (or jewelry) from them!!! my friend worked for a company that supplied the diamonds to Zales.... they would mark up their prices 600%!!!! if a piece was $100 they would sell it for $600.... not worth it..

Retailers in general mark things up. You are probably better off going to the diamond district and finding something there.

IMO I would not even try to go to the Diamond District because they are big ripoffs. I watch a segment on tv where they sell not good quality diamonf for alot of $$$$ and make it seem as if it is good quality when it is not. I would trust going there.

my ring was bought from zales and I have had no problems with it.. i get so many complments on how it looks and how it shines.. we actually got it appaised and its worth more than what he bought it for, it depends on your taste.. see i am not a tiffany gir

My ring is from the diamond district. If you go into the experience of buying a ring with some education, then you can't be taken. All it takes is reading and going with someone you know and trust. I assure you that my FH is intelligent enough not to be taken for a fool. And my engagement ring appraised for about 3 times what he paid for it and is insured for that much.

I don't agree with your generalization of the diamond district. I definitely think there are stores in the diamond district that may rip you off, but there are plenty that offer good deals. To help ensure that you don't get ripped off, make sure the diamond is certified and get an appraisal.

Department stores mark up their prices as do many jewelry stores. That's how they earn a large profit. IMO you have a better chance of getting a good deal in the diamond district than in the jewelry section of a department store.

Ooops, sorry to make such a generalization but they actually had a documentary on tv about this. Well it is good for people to research before buying and to know what they are looking for.

Mine is from Zales and I love it!!! Also, it's 14K, so I'm not sure where you get your info from.

The appraisal came in at over twice what he paid. My FH rocks!

i thought when you insure, you shouldnt do it for the amount that it was appraised for b/c then you pay too much insurance and often times the insurance companies 'know' jewellers and can get the ring replaced to just what you had before?

are we comparing girls? because thats what it sounds like to me.. as I said previously said my e-ring is from zales and I absolutely love it!! I wouldnt care if it came from a cracker jack box.. its the meaning behind the ring, not the value...I love my fiance, and let me tell you when we first started looking at rings,I told him it didnt matter to me about the size, all that mattered was spending the rest of our lives together..
