Hi ladies! I'm having a really hard time deciding on an engagement photo shoot location. FH and I love the beach and would be okay with some pics being on the beach but would also love some different/interesting backdrops. Where are all of you doing your shoots? Also, would prefer a place where we didn't have to pay $200 to get in. Thanks so much!!!

I don't know where you live but what about Gardiner Park on Montauk Hwy in West Islip/Bay Shore? It has a small beach at the end of the trail with a great view of the bridge. It's also very woodsy. And there are random workout stations (for pull ups, etc) that you can probably turn into cute pics.

Port Jefferson has a nice mix of small town charm and a small beach & marina. Sayville is similar!

thanks all! So funny I passed Gardiner Park today b/c I work over there and I thought to myself, 'hmmm' :). I'll have to check it out.

You should go to Fort Totten Park in Bayside.. at the Bell Blvd exit. There's a small parking lot with a jetty and it's an amazing view of the Throgs Neck Bridge, especially @ night is exceptionally gorgeous when the bridge is lit up- it would be nice to have the bridge as your backdrop.
(I took this photo there. It's my favourite 'chill & ponder' spot).
FYI you are allowed to take pictures of the bridge area but not @ the actual park if you chose to walk around b/c it's a military site. There are gorgeous mansions there though.

I love that idea!! FH and I live in Queens and are going to be taking e-pics soon prob. That is a great spot!

That sounds beautiful and your pic--def a place that I would consider a good relax and let go place too :)
I also like the LongBeach idea...hmmm. So many places. I'm finding that making decisions is the hardest part of all of this wedding stuff. Hahah. I think, well I only get one engagement shoot so I want it to be perfect.
I'm probably driving myself crazy. All of these places I'm sure would be perfect!

Please, talk about driving yourself crazy, I tried going to the mall to get an 'engagement shoot' outfit and came up wiht a cute dress but still not really satisfied! Ugh! Who would think that I could over think this more than my wedding dress!!

We did ours at the High Line and the Met. (in my pics) in Chelsea and they came out great.
We did them twice and the first ones were on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ. It has a beach as well as awesome murals and a cool old pavillion. Its a drive, but worth it. So neat. Asbury

FH and I are doing our engagement shoot on Thursday at Tanner Park in Amity Harbor. It's got a little beach and a boardwalk and a little ice cream shop and playground. It's really cute !
