I would do it at least it would help you get to know your photographer if nothing else
Will you have them back in time to use them for anything at the wedding? If not, I wouldn't bother. The month before the wedding is HECTIC!
If the photog says you will have them back in time then I would say go for it!
We are doing ours about a month before the wedding. I don't care if we get ours back before the wedding or not, it's important for me to meet the photographer first. Also, FH doesn't like taking pictures, so he really is very nervous and needs assurance the photographer can take nice pics of him.
