Engagement/Wedding Present?

Did you get DH a present for your engagement?

What do you plan on getting him for a wedding present?

Apparently, DH thinks he should get an engagement present (little does he know I'm throwing him a huge surprise bday party in September)....I was thinking of either an IPod or getting a framed print of the Bethpage Black Course (where he plays golf all the time and where the Carlyle is)

For the wedding present, he has cufflinks, he has a big TV....any ideas? I was thinking portable DVD player (esp for that long flight to Hawaii for HM)....

I posted below that I was thinking of getting FI season tickets to the Mets as a wedding gift. No engagement gift though!

TOo funny! My FH is also a Mets fan, and I'm a Yankee fan....I'm throwing his 30th bday at Shea...that's the most I can fathom doing for him...I could NEVER buy season tix! Go Yanks! YOu are a great fiance!

I didn't get him an engagement present, but I had gotten him a really nice bday present right before ( a digital camcorder and a new golf driver..pricey!)

As for the wedding, I will definitely be getting him a present. He's been eyeing new golf irons, and he's promised to not buy ANY MORE golf paraphanailia (sp?) until after the wedding... So I might get them for him as a gift.

Jill: love the idea of framing a pic of the Black.. I know my FH would love that! And it would hold special meaning in our home to both of us oh, and GO YANKEES! (luckily we are both fans!)

I did not get him an engagement gift. I don't know what I will get as a wedding gift. Sorry, I know that doesn't help at all.

I bought FH a Raymond Weil watch. We aren't doing wedding gifts.

I got my FH a Tag watch for our engagement. it was a deal we had going for two years, that once i got a ring, he woudl get a watch.

dont know yet about wedding gifts. I woudl do something more long term though, a autographed picture of his fav football player? something he will have for ever.

Thanks all! He has a really nice Tag watch he never wears, so I wouldn't get him another watch (even though I'd love to!)

Erin, they have the pics by Mark Ellis (he's the one who did the pic on Carlyle's main page for their website) in the Bethpage Pro Shop. They're not that expensive. I will probably buy a print and have it framed myself. I like the idea that we can hang a nice pic on the wall of the course and where we had our wedding.

I thought of some golf clubs, BUT, since he purchases them without my knowledge (new irons here, a new driver there) I don't think I'll do that!

I didn't get FH an engagement present, but for the wedding I would like to get him a recliner. Hopefully it will go in a new home.

My Engagement gift to him is paying for our hotels on our California trip in August. We're going to San Fran an Yosemite (room is expensive in Yosemite). SO i said thats my gift to him :)
