Engagment Party

When having an engagement party are you suppose to register?

Do you want gifts or cash for the engagement party? Usually guests bring cash to an engagement and gifts to a shower. You could register whenever you want but I wouldn't tell anybody until after the engagement party so you'll get cash instead

people kept bugging us to register so we did, and we got mainly registry gifts. we didnt mind, we really enjoyed the gifts we got and have been using them!

We're going to. My brother had an e-party a few years ago and the family kept asking my mom why they weren't registered. People wanted to buy them something for their apartment. They eventually went out and registered.

I did- guests can then have option of cash or gift and if gift know what you want/need

I just had my e party yesterday. I didnt register and got cash from most guests, I did, however, get 4 gifts, which were beautiful. I would suggest you register at one place for a few things and if anyone calls to ask you, then give them that info. So, this way, you'll be getting things you need and want.

We registered and got about half cash and half gifts. Now that it comes time for my shower, I already have everything I need! Go figure -- I'd have rather had money for the engagement and gifts for the shower

After my invites went out people kept asking my parents if we had registered and my aunts kept bugging me to register so we did & that way people had options, but we still got mostly cash.

we really want cash for our party. however, people are asking where we are registered... so to please them we are going to register with liberty travel. which actually benefits us too... since we have no money for our honeymoon!! a friend of mine did this and she said that her hm was just about allpaid for!!

I didnt register! Right now we are both still living at home and with the wedding so far away I wouldnt have a need or a place for the things off of the registery. I was going to register for a few things but decided not to...However I was thinking about opening up a honeymoon registery...I wouldnt mind people putting $$ towards that...lol
