It is quite amazing how command of the English language will make or break your perception to other people. Am I the only one who finds real difficult to talk to people who cannot speak or write well?

Re: English...
for me, it depends. if English is not your first language, it doesn't bother me. However, it irks me to no end when I read/hear native speakers butchering the language.

Re: English...
Sometimes I'm amused by it - like when celebs do it. That's my favorite.
However, since my family isn't from this country, I cut them slack.

Re: English...
What inspired me to post this was a paper I recently read about Gorilla’s where the writer had confused Gorilla with guerilla about half way through the paper. So according to the paper a good number of Gorilla’s were being killed off by participating in guerilla warfare…

I don't mean to be a wiseazz but your use of the apostrophe in 'Gorillas' was incorrect...
ETA: English is my second language. I believe that I speak it and write it well and have a hard time seeing native speakers butcher not only the english language but also the grammar.

Yes, these things annoy me to no end. I do have some tolerance but not much.

Re: English...
It bothers me but sometimes I will read old posts and I realize that I wrote something incorrectly so I cut people some slack online.
However, in person or for formal writing it drives me nuts.
