engraving weddings bands?

engraving weddings bands?

i need help on this one, i don't know what to engrave (if anything) on our bands.

i only have room for about 9 characters/spaces and can't come up with anything besides the date...

for my FH i joked and told him i was going to engrave 'put it back on' and he actually thinks it's a really funny idea. but i'm afraid 20 years from now, it won't be so cute.

what did everyone engrave on their bands?

FH and I used our initials and wedding date on our bands.

we didn''t do the engraving..but FSIL did the name of their wedding song

I think 'put it back on' is funny but you're right it might not be 20 years from now

we are having the name of our first dance
'it had to be you' and the date engraved on ours

My ring: C :heart: K 6/10/06

My band couldn't fit many characters either and this is what our jeweler recommended. We were going to put our song inside DH's ring but he decided he wanted to have the same as me.

i always wanted to get: 'Anthony's forever'
but i never thought that it wouldnt fit!
maybe i can get 'Ant's 4e' or something lol

I like the name of the song and the date thats cute!

ha - i love that too

I had a bunch of room to write on his band so i wrote
'I love you more' and inside joke and the date. It was a surprise and he REALLY liked it

i just put our monogram on each one and the date of the wedding.. he doesnt know im doing it.. i wanted to surprise him!

I think this is great too...I have friends that did this and it's adorable. We had our initials and the date engraved, but I never even see it because I never take it off.

As a sidenote, my DH lost his wedding band in the ocean 3 weeks after our wedding and the fact that we had them engraved gives me the slightest bit of hope that maybe someone will find it one day and come looking for us. (I know, I watch too many movies, but it would be pretty awesome if it did happen!)

Since he is a rock climber, I put 'climb on 7.1.06'. It is a safety term used when climbing.
