envelope question

Hi,
I asked this question on the vendor board, but it occurred to me that you ladies most likely know the answer to this as well.

I am ordering:
a 6x8 invitation
a 3.5x5 response card
a 3.5x5 enclosure card
all on 300gsm somerset paper
direction card
hotel info
on regular card stock

What size envelopes should I order if I want double envelopes?
Will a 6.5 x 8.5' serve as an inner envelope and a 6.6' × 9' as the outer? Or should I order a 7.75' × 11.5 as the outer?

I really have no idea but I would try them both and see whichever one fits tighter. I like the tighter look rather than have them shifting a bit in the envelope. JMO

I would definately NOT order the 7.75 x 11.5 for an outer envelope! It will be way too big!

When I was printing my envelopes, I noticed, that there is only 1/4 inch difference between the outer and the inner envelope.

I think if your invite is 6x8
your inner envelope should be 6 1/4 x 8 1/4
and your outer envelope should be 6 1/2 x 8 1/2

Or.......if you think that is too tight. I would do inner envelope 6 1/2 x 8 1/2
and outer envelope 6 3/4 x 8 3/4

Can you buy singles and just check the fitting of everything in the envelopes?

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to buy some envelopes and test them.
