hahaha is all i have to say to FMIL and FFIL...at first they didnt even want to hear that we were engaged...now they are like oh have the eparty in our backyard in june! my mom was planning to have it at a VFW hall sooner then June (March April ish) and I dont think that theire backyard will hold the amt of ppl we are planning on having (abt. 100)
how do i (or my mom) break it to them?

In my situation our parents live about 4 hrs from each other and want their close friends/family to attend the Engagement party. So I think we are going to do two small one's. You can tell your future FMIL that your mother is holding (and already planned) one in the spring for you & your FH for your friends/family. If she would like to throw an additional one, that would be sweet of her.
Honestly...more presents and more celebrating!

yea just be honest and explain that you already had planned some things out. you and fh just need to sit down with her.... and im sure it will be fine.
