Episcopal Ceremony

Anyone getting married at the Episcopal church? Do you have a sample program (order of ceremony)? Also I was advised that we cannot used a unity candle but would need to check with minister? I already bought my supplies to make it.

i am. The unity candle depends on the church. Normally I believe they dont really like to use it, but our Priest actually tol dus we could if we wanted to. My advice to you would be not to buy anything for any part of the ceremony without checking first because a lot of churches dont allow you to do many things. For example, a lot of churches dont allow you to have aisle runners, or to throw rose petals down the aisle, etc.

We're not doing a mass, so our ceremony is going to have 2 readings (one from the Gospel and one from the New Testament). Without the mass its about 20 minutes long.

The reason why I bought my candles is because I was going to do another church that does allow it but I had to move the location, so that is why.

Yea, like I said, every church is different....which makes it a real pain in the @ss for us brides

As for the order of everything for the ceremony -- I'm actually waiting to get an email back from my priest this week with the order of ours. I can post what he sends me as soon as I get it if it will help at all.

Re: Episcopal Ceremony

as for the progam part.... at our church the music director offered up several old wedding programs for us to copy.... maybe your rectory has some about?

I found out that it is best to run your program by both the music director and the priest (in your case, minister?) before printing everything out... There are lots of little details we may completely overlook....
