Do Episcopalians have to go through Pre-Cana? Is that what it is called? What is involved?

Re: Episcopal Church Question
Is Episcopal the same as Lutheran? If so, no you do not have any type of pre-cana. I think it's just a Catholic thing...

Re: Episcopal Church Question
You have to go to pre-marriage counseling at a place called family consultation center (it is a one day deal- sat only) I know they offer it only once a year at each place (not sure which place when)- but it is offered in suffolk, nassau, queens and brooklyn. They offer it in march, may, sept, and Dec. They tell me that they book quickly - don't know how true this is - they gave me a hard time b/c I didn't sign up for one immediately - even after explaining that my FH is in MI in law school and will have to fly home for any one of them (2 are during final times) so we will not know that far in advance when we can go. Robeymuse also has to go as well. There must be other places - b/c our Dean told us that we could go in MI (or where ever we are) if I move when I graduate

Re: Episcopal Church Question
I got married in an Episcopal church and, basically, the priest just wanted to meet with us a few times to get to know us and see where we were in our lives. We pretty much just discussed practical things (life insurance, joint bank accounts, etc.). We already lived together and had all those things to the meetings were mostly so our priest could familiarize himself with us personally. There was nothing formal. I think it depends on the parish -

Re: Episcopal Church Question
We had to do 3- one hour sessions of pre-marrital counseling. It was easy, we ended up talking about other things also
