I was wondering if anyone has tasted the wedding cakes from Erga Italian Bakery in Bethpage? How was is?
*****- good- great- excellent?
The Watermill uses them, which is where I am booked. I'm going to be headed out there in a few weeks to taste test. But was wondering if it's worth the trip or should I start looking to get my cake somewhere else?
The more feedback the better- I love mail!!
Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!

To be honest with you, I grew up in that area and know exactly what bakery you are talking about. I have never tasted their wedding cakes but as far as anything else there, cakes, cookies, I usually travel a further distance to go to a better bakery. If all else fails though and my 2 favorite bakeries are closed, I would go to Erga. Another words, they are nothing to write home about.
Like I said, I have never tasted their wedding cakes though.

Re: Erga Italian Bakery Reviews-
my cake looked beautiful, but was not good. i had chocolate cake with canoli and chocolate mousse filling.
but honestly, i've never had a wedding cake that i loved. i wouldn't look anywhere else...it's not worth the money for a wedding cake. just make sure it looks good.

Re: Erga Italian Bakery Reviews-
I had a full Viennese at my wedding (pastries galore) and used their cake and really loved everything. I heard that they make carrot and chocolate cake the best for wedding cakes, because the other flavors tend to dry out. Our wedding cake was chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse and raspberry fillings and fondant icing - so delicious and everybody raved about it!

Re: Erga Italian Bakery Reviews-
I've heard rave reviews about our cake. We had the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and cannoli fillings. A co-worker told me it was the best cake she's ever had! And a friend told me she ate 2 pieces it was so good.
