FH and I just spent an hour in Macy's buying gifts off the registry for my brother's finace's shower. I come home and show my mom all of the bakeware that I bought and told her that I was going to make a basket with cooking products in it (cookie mix, etc). My mom says to me 'that's what I'm doing!!'. I said, 'well, you didnt take the stuff off the registry'..she says 'You don't HAVE to get everything off the registry!!!'...and so on and so on...so now I have to go BACK to Macy's and purchase something else!!!!!!!! Errrrrrrggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why can't people just buy off the registry!!!??? She picked the stuff for a reason!!!!!!

that's frustrating. i never understand why people don't buy off the registry. it's there for a reason

forgive my ignorance, but isn't that the POINT of the registry? this is what makes me nuts about weddings/showers in general. i went to a shower recently and the bride got so many doubles b/c people didn't use the registry.

I have an aunt who refuses to buy off the registry. She says, 'I want to be creative.' I tell her, you dont need to be creative, just go to the store, print the registry, buy something off it, have it wrapped, and go home, end of story! My cousins shower was last week, she did the same thing, however, she had a great deep fryer on her registry at BB&B, so what does my aunt do, she goes and buys a completely different fryer, I advised her she wasnt too creative since i told her there was a fryer on the registry, but to be her usual self, she went to a different store and bought a different deep fryer. Heaven forbid, she make it easy.
