Escort Cards/Name Cards

Looking for some opinions or ideas... we're doing a vineyard theme and I LOVED the idea of using nametags on wine corks for the escort cards. However it just occurred to me that these may be kind of big or annoying for people to carry around during the cocktail hour, and they may work out better as nametags on the seat. I was not originally planning on marking out exact seats, just tables.

What are other girls doing.... do you think people would wait until the CH is over to take it? Should I have everyone in a specific place?

I used bells with hearts on top...some people just took their cards and left the bells..others took the whole thing.

Don't stress your guests will find a seat I would not do the assigned seating at the actual table but that is just me

They place where I'm getting married has the CH upstairs and ballroom downstairs so I don't think guest will even see it until after the CH so I never though if this.

I think it will be fine if the take them before. No need for escort cards.

I think its just the same as carrying around a card that has your name on it. Some brides do the favor attached, and then the guest would still have to carry around the favor at cocktail hour. But then again, some guests may not pick up their escort card until right before the reception, I guess it just depends on where the table will be placed.

Have you gone to the corkycreations website? If I do have the escort cards in the corks, I am going to use that site, they are super cheap and they are flat on the bottom.

OMG I totally went to this site and I'm pretty sure this is where I'm going to get my holders from. I'm not sure whether the name card will be on the cards they have or having my stationnaire make them for me.

I also like the idea of putting a wine cork in a wine bottle on the table and having that hold my table number. Are you doing a wine theme too?

Really? Ok cool... I really like the idea and I agree, I don't want to have them at the tables, I would rather them be escort cards. Hopefully people won't try to take them right away, I'll talk to the BM about it.

One less thing to stress about :)

I am! It didn't start out that way, but somehow its evolved into one...I call it 'vintage vineyard'. My flowers are wine colors, deep purple and deep reds, i think that is what started it. I think I'm doing the cork place card holders, putting the table numbers on the wine bottles that will be on the table, low centerpieces will be flowers in wineboxes, tall centerpieces will have curly willow which to me looks like the vineyard vines. What are you doing with your wine theme? And feel free to FM me if you want!

People usually take the cards, as they go from the CH to the main reception
