My friend looked there yesterday and loved it. However, she was quoted what I found to be a very high price. With tax and grat. it would be $102 a person! I think this is a lot considering it will be a novemeber Friday night wedding...possibly over Thanksgiving. East Wind Brides...what do you think of this price?

Re: Estate at East Wind
I don't think that is a bad price for East Wind at all. I think in high months, the average is about $125.00

Re: Estate at East Wind
When I went there I found them kind of shady about pricing... it seems like you can bargain with them and perhaps talk them down if you get a better price elsewhere and are having a hard time making a decision. At my place the price is the price for every bride that walks in there, so that made me feel more comfortable because I'm bad at price negotiating!
she can get a better price if she bargins, my cousins got married there this THanksgiving weekend for way less than that!
Tell her to use her skills and make them lower that price

Thank you! I will tell her to work on the price. I just think it is too much for a holiday weekend.

She should try to negotiate alittle. It seems a little high just because of the time of year.

A girl I work with got married there this past Sept 24th which was the 1st night of Yom Kipper and she paid about $125 pp.

Re: Estate at East Wind
It really depends on where you go. A lot of other reception halls are much less. East Wind is on the higher end. She should look at Majestic Gardens in Rocky Point or Georgio's. I believe they are less expensive especially if you are getting married in one of the 'off' months.

Re: Estate at East Wind
Christy I don't think that is that bad and honestly has not gone up that much at all since I booked in 2001. I think we paid almost the exact same thing, for a July Saturday Day time wedding. Estate Wind is beautiful though.

Re: Estate at East Wind
I honestly think that is good price. You get a lot for what you pay.
I am getting married there and that is what we are paying. We negotiated some extras into the deal. Just have your friend tell them what she wants.
I thnk it is so worth the money, have you ever seen the Estate?

I don't know, I don't think the price is that bad. W/ out tax and gratuity it comes to about $85 per head. Which is pretty common, especially since the estate is the bigger venue (then lets say the country gardens). If she can bargin them down some, then she should try. My experience w/ East Wind is that it seems like it's the same price all year round (depending on the day, of course). The country gardens is a little cheaper ($64 per head w/ out tax and gratuity). Their service and food are terrific.

Re: Estate at East Wind
I booked my wedding in the estate for oct 27th which is a friday night, for the year 2006, and Im paying more than your friend My price started off at 115 pp at a gurantee of 165.... after trying to bargain.... we got it down too, 110 pp at a gurantee of 150 people....
I find that when you try to bargain with them, they barely budge on the price.... just try and throw in extra perks.... for example: When we were saying the price was a little high could they work on, they were like how about we add the vieneese hour for $7 instead of $12..... meanwhile....I dont the want the Vhour..... grr...

Re: Estate at East Wind
Yeah we were 1st quoted $85 PP for a sat afternoon & then with tax & grad it came to be about $109 PP. At 1st i almost fell off my chair but we loved this place so very much we booked it. We r having about 200 people & the estate gives us the room & it nice & secluded from the other halls. All & all i have heard nothing but great things about them & the food & service was excellent so i was def sold with them.........I rel it is a bit far for people to travel but i wanted a place not right next to a 7/11 or mcdonalds or something.
