Estelle's Dressy Dresses

Just wanted to tell you guys ( who don't have dresses yet) about my experience with this store.
First of all I actually just stopped by the store to look for a dress for another party I was going to and noticed that in the back of the store was a ENTIRE wedding section. Completley seperate practically from the rest of the store.
I had just been to some other bridal stores and was about to make a final decsion and when I saw the dresses and the PRICES at Estelle's that was it.

They have HUNDREDS of beautiful dresses at about 1/2 the price. Good quality and really actually even prettier than the other stores I had went to.
I wound up just buying one that day.

The sales help is GREAT ( they dont work on commission so are not pushy) They took there time with me, listened to what I wanted and were all just downright Sweet ladies.
Like I said.. It's not where you browse through the racks yourself like the rest of the store, It is a seperate area with seperate bridal fitting rooms with seperate proffessional help.

I just had such a wonderful experience there I want to recomend that everyone at least stop by and take a look when the day comes.

P.S they also have a HUGE selection of bridal shoes and jewlery, headpieces etc...

Re: Estelle's Dressy Dresses

I went there for my BM dress for my sister's wedding, and I found a great deal. However, there are many gowns that I saw there with slight problems in the hem, etc. Mine had to be altered a few times. Depending on how much you pay for the alterations, it's probably still cheaper to go there.

Re: Estelle's Dressy Dresses

I got my dress there and I was so happy. I saved a lot of money. I even saved more than I would if I had gone thru the computer websites! They also give you a list of seamstresses. It was one of the only places were I went to and did not have any pressure to buy.I have been to a lot of stores where there is high pressure. I highly recommend them.

Re: Estelle's Dressy Dresses

I got a dress for my bosses daughter's bat mitzvah from there just a few weeks ago. I had bought the same exact dress from Lord and Taylor for $150 and it was at Estelle's for $89 . So needless to say, I returned the other one at Lord and Taylor. They have a really nice selection of bridal, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, flower girl and plus sized dresses and the prices are very reasonable. I plan on going there once I start looking for my dress.
Oh and FYI, a woman in the bridal salon section told me that you don't need an appointment to try on their wedding dresses.

Jennbaby: It's located on Route 110 in Farmingdale. Here's their website: Estelle's

Re: Estelle's Dressy Dresses

No, you don't need an appointment.
I have also been there a couple times and never had to wait for anyone to help me.
I don't think many brides would think they carry such a full line of dresses so it's never busy in that section

Good Luck!

Re: Estelle's Dressy Dresses

They are really good.. I've got some great deals on last minute dresses for weddings and stuff, but look into their return policy.. I am pretty sure that for regular dresses there are no returns...
