my fmil went to pick up her dress today and let me tell you that they were nasty to her.. first of all they were supposed to dry clean the dress and fix the lose beads, well the dress was pick, and it came back gray with all smudges on it, and rips everywhere.. they had the nerve to tell her to take it as is.. she eventually got her money back, but what the hell???? I am furious..please be careful if you go there... does anyone have any suggestions on where to get mog dress in the suffolk area.. she is on a fixed income.. thanks :)

Re: estelles
Since your wedding is not until April, I would suggest having FMIL wait until after Christmas, when everything goes on sale for ridiculous amounts, and the newspapers have coupons, and then head to Macy's, Lord & Taylor etc at any of the major LI malls. I did that two years ago and bought a $250 dress at Macy's for $20!

Re: estelles
I used to work there, and let me tell you. The people are nasty, and the dresses are poorly made. Beads always fall off, etc.

Re: estelles
Also, I got my dress at The Wedding Center in Commack and I loved it there. They also have great mother of the bride dresses. etc. They have real brand names with tags, so you won't get tricked.

Re: estelles
Try Renate's in Lindnehurst, I got my dress, my BM dresses, MOB ang MOG dresses, and they have been excellent.

Yeah, but if they are that bad that they would do that, then you don't want to give them your business. I'm sure your FMIL will be able to find a dress in time.

Re: estelles
I had a similar issue as a bridesmaid. We loved the dresses though, so we wrote down the info and ordered them online and they came in 3 days and were perfect.

Re: estelles
i have heard good things about Metamorphasis in St James... they have great prices and can order many dresses-- even ones that they dont usually carry in stock, so maybe she can have them re-order the dress she was going to get at estelles!

Re: estelles
I would try the wedding center, my Mom had good luck there but tell her not to go on a weekend, you definitely don't get the time or attention you deserve during the hectic weekends.
