Let's say you find anywhere from $10 -$100 bill on the ground. Without you saying anything, you hear someone say they lost the money. Do you keep it? or give it to the person?

and i use to be a cashier/bartender dealing with a cash machine and made a mistake or two in my life. i was grateful when the honest people informed me of my mistake. you dont realize how much trouble you can get into when your cash drawer is short!!!!!! yes it was my fault by i still was so impressed when the person who i gave the extra money to did the right thing and told me...
I TOLD HIM THIS! Would he listen? NOOOOO! He's a bad, bad man I tell ya!

depends on the person...Actually no, I would give it up to them...
Listen to this...the other day at work, I was walking inside from outside and I see a $1 on the ground, I scream with delight ( because Im broker then broke) and look around, two people I work with , say Ann and Adam are outside...so I say 'Ann, drop a dollar??'...she says 'no'..I say Adam..did you drop a $1??' he comes flying around the building where he was standing and says 'Umm...Yeah maybe I did' ( not even close to being sure) ...EWWWWW....I said 'sorry, maybe doesnt cut it, and put it in my pocket'...
Moral of my story was people LIE...LOL...so if someone SAW me pick up the money, then said they dropped it, they'd have to pry it out of my pocket first!

Ok, here's my story: Old man in a VA hosptial couldnt see well was trying to buy some food. Handed me a ROLL of cash and couldnt tell if I took a $5 or a $100 to pay for his food. I made sure to keep my hands clear and open to him and made sure to watch out for him the rest of the night (spent 6 hours in there with my dad)
Folks were trying to steal the old man's money, so sad.
I used to work at Burlington Coat factory WAY back when. Three strikes and you were out on your till. over or under by $5 three times and they fired you, regardless of how long in between the mistakes. Lady worked there 3 years got fired one day for her 3rd mistake. in THREE YEARS! unsigned CC receipts were considered as no sales and charged against your account. It was tough.
Still... I've kept cash when over paid change. Usually only when the attitude or service is bad. If they were sweet about it and just made an honest mistake I'd make a point to give it back.
