its so interesting reading abt all of these!
i feel like there are so many traditions in jewish ceremonies - do i really have to do alll of them?? the ones i am doing are
1- im not seeing him the whole week before the wedding
2- were doing an unveiling before the ceremony called a bedekken. its basically me sitting in a chair and he comes in for a sec and unveils me to make sure its really me. hehehe
3- at some point in the ceremonyi know i gotta walk around him seven times
4- breakin the glass - we all know that one im sure.
hmmm i think thats abt it. we are also supposed to fast the day of the wedding but i'm not so sure abt that one.... i dont wanna pass out after our first dance. imagine??

7 times with both mothers leading you around him under the chuppah....

Also, if you are the last child to leave the house, you have your parents sit on the dance floor with wreaths around their heads and everyone dances around them....

Also, liftingt the couple and the relatives up on the chair...

My parents are hungarian/russian, but we're not really doing anything from that tradition except playing a few hungarian violin songs like the chardosh and russian classical songs during the CH

We are doign some of these... We will see each other before the ceremony- and are planning on staying together that night- it just seems more practical...

We are not doing the circling cause I figured in my dress- I may trip-- but I think it is really nice!

The breaking of the glass of course..

Both mom and dad walking both bride and groom down the aisle- symbolizing the joining of two households/families

the chairs-- symbloizing that the bride and groom are supposed to be treated like royalty

I think that's it-- I love a lot of the rituals- but we wanted to keep our ceremony very short-- so, we are ruling them out..
