Re: ettiquette.. adressing invite to lesbian couple??
I would do this:ms. jane and jean smith-jones?
Cause the Ms. would ne implied for both since they have the same last name. However, for my aunt who lives with her partner and does not share the same last name I put:
Ms. Crystal Smith & Jodi <--- Partners name

My friend and her partner do not share a last name but in your case I'd useMs. Jane Smith-Jones and Ms. Jean Smith-Jones
if it fits on one line, even better

I agree with akaMrsT and if you need two lines put the names in alphabetical order. Jane then Jean.

I would do this:
ms. jane and jean smith-jones
Cause the Ms. would be implied for both since they have the same last name.
I agree, I think this is closest to 'convention.'
if you repeat the last name, it would be like saying Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Jane Doe, which you wouldn't do.
Anyhow, maybe you could do an internet search on etiquette OR just ask them themselves how they write it or would like it written.

I am inviting several same sex couples, so I've researched this extensively. Since they share the same last name the invite should read:
Ms. Jane and Jean Smith-Jones

That's a tough one. WE had a lesbian couple to invite but they don't have the same last name so we just put them in alphabetical order.

Re: ettiquette.. adressing invite to lesbian couple??
how about calling them up and asking them how they would like it to be addressed. Considering you've never done this before and the wedding ettiquette and stuff, i don't think they would be offended. They may even be happy you did.

However, for my aunt who lives with her partner and does not share the same last name I put:
Ms. Crystal Smith & Jodi <--- Partners name
My best friend lives with her partner but they don't have the same last name, so I'm doing:
Ms. Crystal Smith & Jodi Doe
BUT I love the idea of the previosu bride who said 'Ask them!' because now I am going to do just that!!
