If you had a vendor that you were not 100% thrilled with. would you still tip...things that make you go hmmmmmm?

Depends... if it was easy to avoid tipping, yes. If I felt cornered and obligated, I'd probably tip, resentfully and low. Unless their behavior or performance was so bad that I felt totally justified in ripping them a new one, I probably wouldn't be easily able to deny them a tip to their face... make any sense?

Yeah, it does actually it does. I was just thinking of those who had negative expereinces with vendors.

At my wedding the head guy at the hall made my mom mad, and made us cut his tip in half.
She cornered the best man to get the tip envelope before he gave it to him. She replaced it with a smaller amount.

myasmom - are you talking about your dj or another vendor? if your dj - ABSOLUTELY NOT! if another vendor, depends what wasn't 100%.

My first thought is NO. But then again, it depends. If the vendor was the owner/ran their own business like a hair dresser/ makeup person, etc., I'd probably just pay their fee and not tip. If it was someone who worked for a big company, I might reconsider.

Lol all my vendors are paid..I am aincient history on this subject. I feel so like a bride has been. My planning is OVER wah!
I was reading the bridal review forum and was thinking about those who negative experiences with people like DJ's, florists, limos etc..and I got curious about what people did about tips.
************************************ On the DJ subject: Our DJ gave us back most of our $$$ and he's been calling to apologise. I found out that he crashed his car the same night after he left the reception. Aparently he left and went to get drunk out of guilt after our gig.

No. well, actually, I guess it depends...
if they made one mistake, but made every possible attempt to rectify it, I'd still tip.
If they just suck, they don't get a tip.

I would do my best to avoid it. I did not tip 2 vendors on the day of my wedding b/c I was extremely dissatisfied with their service, and I told them why they were not getting tipped.
Unfortunately, one of them approached my FIL & he tipped them thinking I forgot. When I found this out I called the vendor & balled them out on the phone.

Hmmm, that's pretty disturbing. Glad he gave you back most of your money though!

depends...... if its a vendor i will see again after i tip(like photographer) then would still tip but less.....
