Anyone going/went to Europe on their honeymoon? Where did you go and what did you love or dislike about it?
Also, who did you book it through? TIA!

We just did Italy and LOVED it!!!! Oh it was so great, hot but great. We did 16 days and traveled throughout Italy by car.
I researched everything online and thru the Rick Steve's books (definitely recommend his books). Contacted the hotels via email and got quotes. Airline thru cheaptickets. I started with a TA but his quote came in so much higher than what I got doing it thru the net.

We did paris and mauritius, an island in the indian ocean. I thought Paris was too much walking, museums, learning. It was hard after the wedding to feel up to all the sightseeing.

London and day trips into the countryside on an escorted coach bus.
Due to the horribly expensive British pound and Euro I booked the entire trip myself on travelocity and saved a lot over the travel agent. Her first quote was for $14,000 my reception wasn't that much. WE didn't stay in the poshest place.
If you are up for taking a tour for your honeymoon it is the cheapest way to go and the best if you don't speak the language.
Unlike the previous poster I really wanted a lot of sightseeing and walking but staying in the same place for a while. I teach History, am very active and PALE I couldn't stand laying on a beach... I'd be so bored and severely sunburned. We were in London for 9 days and really started to get to know the city well.

We went to Greece last summer, going again in 2 weeks... we went to Athens, and four Greek islands; Paros, Skiathos, Mykonos and Santorini. Loved Santorini, it's a great place for a honeymoon. We are going to a wedding there in 2 weeks...it is a very quite (it has nightlife) place, very romantic. One of the best sunsets in the world.

We are going to costa de sol in spain then going backpacking for a month (maily in eastern europe) - its a good job that its a universal thing where everyone HAS to get a month off plus 8 bank holidays - its the law. FI is British and Im moving there so it works out well - I am so excited!!

I went to Malta - it was absolutely fabulous and the people there are unbelievably nice. Definitely worth a trip.

We went to Greece for two weeks - 3 days in Athens and the rest of the time we spent in Oia on Santorini.
We stayed at Katikies and would go back in a heartbeat - abstolutely stunning on every level.
Santorini was breathtaking - romantic, beautiful, fun - outrageous food and good wine. It was an amazing vacation.

We will be going to Italy for our Honeymoon. We are staying for 10 days. 5 in Rome and 4 on the Almalfi Coast. We booked the flight & hotels through Liberty Travel.

We're going to Italy- 4 nights in Rome, 4 nights in Chianti, 2 nights in Portofino, 4 nights in Venice. All very easy to book online by yourself by doing a little research- no reason to have a travel agent.

I used a travel agent just so I didn't have to worry about anything. I told him what I wanted & he did it all. Trains, car pick-ups from the air-port... If you have the time you can totally do it on your own.

I'm hoping to go to Greece as well - Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and then Athens. Nothing is booked yet though.

2) We're planning on doing a Mediterranean Cruise - planning on booking online (not sure which cruise line we want to go with just yet) - we're restricted to time, otherwise, I would have loved to jump from one place to another w/out the boat!

We went today to check out Italy...lot's of options! We are now thinking about a cruise..what do you all think about a cruise hitting a few places...Italy, Greece, Spain...It sounded more relaxing to us...
