European style vs Traditional

European style vs Traditional

Has anyone been a guest at a European style wedding? What is your take on them? Do you feel that having to move to another room for dancing disrupts the flow of the event?

Fh and I are contracted for traditional style but our guest list keeps mounting (despite having made multiple guest # assessment lists prior to venue hunting ) and I am afraid that filling at maximum capacity or close to it would feel suffocating.

I'm European and have been to a few (from the Balkans) but the dancing is always in the same room, and it's always so much fun!!!

What do you mean by declutter the room? We're using one room for our reception - so the dinner will be there and there's also a dance floor in there. So people can sit, eat, etc. We got a room that fits all of our guests and has room for a dance floor. IMO it might be a bit strange going to another room to just dance...

Are you worried about running out of room? If so, I'd just cut down on your list :)

This is what most people do.

I'm having a European style wedding, but it's all in 1 room. That's why we're getting married at Russo's. They can fit a LOT of people on the dance floor

Ooooooh, okay.
I understood 'European' to be eating first and then dancing at another location which is what my RH is offering due to its capacity. Castle on the Hudson also does that, only its dance room is located at a lower level.

With that in mind, what I meant by 'declutter' was thinking, 'Wow, everyone will have to vacate the banquet hall so staff could remove all the tables to make room for dancing?!!' Lol, I'm glad that's not the case!
