Im debating on having a evening wedding 8-1:30a. Does any of the past brides have pics of their evening weddings?????? Im very scared it will be too dark in June by that time.

Re: Evening weddings
Where is this????
Not sure if you're looking for opinions but I think that is too late
Keep looking, you should be able to get earlier. I've been to weddings at the venue that were at night and the ceremony was in the afternoon.

If you both don't mind seeing eachother before the ceremony you can meet earlier and get all of your formal photos out of the way.

Re: Evening weddings
Your ceremony begins at 8?
Our CH started at 8:30 in May and it was just fine. Our ceremony was at 5 PM and it was still plenty light when we arrived at about 6:15 to the RH to take photos outside.

Our ceremony started later and our reception went til 12:30, we had no problems in July since the sun didn't go down until around 8:30. I have tons of pictures in my review if you want to see....

I was going to say exactly this. If you are willing to do a 1st view before your ceremony u will have plenty of time to take pix in the sunlight. U can go to a park or somewhr with nice scenery then get to your RH to take pix thr b4 the ceremony starts. Plus if you get most of your pix out of the way before hand, esp with fam as well, u can enjoy your CH and the rest of your wedding w/o being stressed about pix. Im doing this same exact thing for my wedding. If you are not willing to each other before the ceremony then I think u will have a prob. The sun will set about the time of your ceremony. You dont want all of your pix being at night.

Re: Evening weddings
I just looked up the sunset times, if your wedding is 5/31/12 like your profile says then sunset that day is 8:20... you could get some really awesome sunset pictures!

Re: Evening weddings
You said it was going to be in june, right? YOU ARE TOTALLY FINE!!! June has some of the longest days of the year. The sun doesn't set until after 8 pm, and you still will have that lovely twilight feel for quite a while after. It won't get completely dark until after 9 pm - and that's when the party starts!!!!
That being said, you should talk to your RH and see if they can move you up by maybe even just a half hour...only because ending at 1:30 is very late, and a lot of older guests will likely leave early.

If your booking at end of June you'll get extra daylight but if your ceremony is at 8pm and the sun sets at 8:30 you are still getting no sunlight unless you take pix b4 the ceremony. Yes, u may get some gorgeous sun setting shots but if taking pix in daylight is important to u then really consider your options b4 booking. You dont want to have any regrets.

I think I'll be fine. Every hall I see is either too modern or way out of my budget. I love the mansions but they are too pricey for a summer wedding.

Re: Evening weddings
You can check on line to see when the sun sets. June has the longest days of the year, I think. But remember that part of the charm of a water front wedding is being able to see the water.
When we were interviewing photographers, we asked to see their evening wedding shots for just this reason.

My coctail hour starts at 8:30 I was worried at first also because of the time but these reception halls know what there doing..my church is at 5 and then I'm going to go right to the hall to take pictures..my photographer also said we would be fine. I hope this helps

Re: Evening weddings
I am in the same boat My CH is at 8:30, reception ends at 1:30, I was worried too, but I am asking the hall to start 15 minutes early, plus we are doing a first view to get pics out of the way. HTH
