ever dye a bridesmaid dress?

ever dye a bridesmaid dress?

I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks, since I got laid off last week, I'm trying to save money, so I was considering dying a full length flowy chiffon bridesmaid dress that I wore in my sisters wedding (its a very light green). I think it would look awesome in black, but was just curious if anyone has ever dyed a dress and if so, where and how much did it cost? If it's still expensive I might be better off trying to find a sale in Macy's or something lol

thanks!!

here's a pic of the dress:

I attempted to dye a brown bridesmaid dress to black. Didn't work out. It was silk and I assumed being a natural fiber, it would be ok. Ended up ruining the dress. I've only been successful in dying cotton.

You can probably find something cheap and very pretty at Macy's. Good luck!!!

I really don't know anything about dying dresses but I assume it would not be easy and may not work out so well.

I bought a dress in Macy's last week for a weddings this past weekend that cost $40 -- sales, sales, sales.

You can get most fabrics to dye black but it may take a few tries to get it pure black.
