ever wish you asked someone to be in your bridal party?

ever wish you asked someone to be in your bridal party?

I know a lot of people have expressed problems with asking their BP too soon because they regretted ASKING someone, but has anyone ever regretted NOT ASKING someone?

I kind of wish I asked a friend of mine to be a BM, but dresses have already been ordered, she knows I picked a BP and I think it's too late (wedding is in Aug).

I added a member of my bridal party much later than when I asked originally. Not only am I so happy I asked her, but she is now my MOH!

There are people who arent in my bridal party who have been more helpful / supportive etc...but they are acknolodged for it and will be made to stand out in other ways at the wedding!!!

You still have time to order another dress....if you really want her, I would ask! Even though she knows it's been picked, I'm sure she would still be honored

If I were you, i'd still ask! You definitely have enough time to order her dress...

You should ask - it is so not too late. I regret not asking someone - it was a bad decision. I think it is better to regret asking someone than to regret not asking them. Explain the delay and say you would love her to be part of it. Who cares if the dye lot is not the same - no one would ever notice, and it is not about the dress anyways.

I did the same thing..> I asked my BP right after the engagement (caught in the excitement). They are all wonderful in way or another but this one girl (who I had not asked) was always going out of her way to help me. She would offer to look through magazines with me and go to the bridal stores, etc.... I realized I wanted her to be in my BP. I was afraid that it was too late too b/c of dresses and all that but I called the store and had her added on. If you want someone in that bad, just do it. The absolute worst thing that happens is her dress might be a TINY shade different. Do what you think is right!

I feel the exact same way, but the friend I regret not asking lives far and also has a very difficult financial situation. I know that she would feel bad saying no because of that but I also know it would be a HUGE strain on her By the time I thought about it enough to the point where I considered extending the offer and helping w/ the payments, it was already too late, the other girls gowns will be in very soon.

I asked my BP right after I was engaged too - I didn't do any cute 'Will you be my BM?' cards, I called everyone right away and told them I was engaged and then asked them. The friend in question was one of my college roommates and we lost touch a little after graduation but she drove in from out of state to come to my e-party (just a luncheon) and she took me with her to see a show over break and we hung out all day and it reminded me of how she's always been there for me and how much I missed her. She's actually staying with us Wednesday night because she has a med school interview this week and if I ask her I'll be able to do it in person. If she says no that's fine, but I've been regretting not asking her since August

Edit: I just dont want her feelings to be hurt that I didn't ask her initially...

We just added a member of our bridal party last month, you still have time. I would call the bridal shop and see if its too late to add one more.

I asked a girl much later but I am so happy that I did. It was before we ordered the bm dresses but I would have done it either way.

Re: ever wish you asked someone to be in your bridal party?

I had the situation where I had asked everyone in my BP but I didn't ask or include my FSIL - one of my BM had dropped out and my FSIL was so super helpful and assisted where ever she could -I kinda negated the idea of having here in the BP even though her daughter is our FG and her husband is one of the ushers... I didn't feel that close to her like that at the time.

So the day she came to hang out in NY a few months later (she's from NJ) and help me shop for shoes and DOJ both FH and I took her out to lunch and asked her to be a BM...long story short she said yes and made both FH and I very very happy.

Same here. I didn't do anything cute or anything. I called them and told them we got engaged and then within that night just blurted it out...'WILL YOU BE MY BM'?!!!! All caught up in the excitement! But then there was that one girl who I should have asked and I finally did!! She's been a big help!

As for your friend- from what it sounds like, you don't have the same exact relationship with this girl as the other ones bc she doesnt live right here. But when you do see her or talk to her, you feel the same as the girls you see all the time... I think you should ask her when she comes on wednesday.

Oh and I wouldn't worry about you hurting her feelings. Just explain that you have always wanted to ask her but you werent sure bc the distance. But you just really want her to be part of things and then ask her... I'm sure she won't be offended you didnt ask her initially. My BM wasn't offended at all- she was so happy that we asked her and started crying! lol
