Every Day China

Original post by B2BMay04

Please post your every day china. We can't seem to find a pattern we like. Actually we found one we loved but it is too costly for everyday.

Ideas are appreciated

Re: Every Day China

Hey babybride and Pickle
Are you registering for formal china as well or is this going to be it. Ever since we found this pattern we haven't been able to find anything else we like. I was feeling guilty registering for this pattern as every day and registering for formal china as well.

I like the Pfaltzgraff -patterns but a few of my aunts warned me about the manuafacturer because some of the plates scratch with use and it is a pain to clean. You have to get a special cleaner to get rid of the marks. That being said my FSIL has a Pfaltgraff pattern ans she has had no problems. I guess it depends on which pattern you pick.

Ladies there are some very nice designs up here. Thank you for your replies.

Re: Every Day China

This is ours its Orleans by pfaltzgraff.

My parents have pfaltzgraff and we have no probelms with it at all! And I can say that my mom and I am not easy on plates and none of ours are scratched after using them every day for about 2 years!

We also registered for Formal China by Wedgewood, but that's a different post!

We also had a hard time finding formal china that was 'us', but after searching a long time, we found it.

Arctic by Nautica (Pfaltzgraff). The colors are far more subtle than in the pic...kind of like winter white and very pale grey.

Re: Every Day China

Hey B2BMay04 - Fortunate for FI and I his parents bought all our formal china as an engagement gift so I will be registering for this as my everyday china. It is so beautiful!!!! But it is pricey. How many settings do you need? Can you that help cut the cost?

Re: Every Day China

Hey B2B, we didn't register for anything else (dish wise). one reason is our wedding is small, and i'd rather not get a little of this and a little of something else. We also liked the Pfaltz. Summer Breeze that someone else posted, initially after we felt the lenox may be fancier than we originally intended..

But we figure we liked the lenox pattern so much (we mixed with the Blue (Prov. Sky i think) dishes that go w/ it). We figure we'll use them as much as possible.. Good luck with your decision!!!
