Everyone get your ring boiled and steamed!!!!

Oh my god-I cannot believe it!! I had my ring cleaned today(through boiling and steaming) and I am in awe of the change in how sparkly it is. It is unbelievable!!!!! I clean my ring very often by myself but after having it professionally done--it is way different!!!!

By the way, the guy told me that the proper way to clean a ring is in alcohol overnight and that you cannot overclean it or clean it too often!!!! I am soooo excited!!!!

I did that 2 days before the wedding and it looked awesome!

QVC has a cleaner call Caribbean Gem. My ring comes out super sparkly every time I clean it.

I had this done about a week ago and i couldn't believe it! it looked shinier than the day FH gave it to me!!!

The guy boiled it for me, although he did say I could also do it on my own if I wanted to. This has to be by far the best way to clean a ring. I mean, like I said I clean it myself constantly and I always think it looks really nice and sparkly after a cleaning, but this is like a completely different degree of sparkliness!! I went to a place in the diamond district.

The jeweler my fh got my ring from told me to boil mine at home...He is not the actual sales person - he is the diamond buyer and a 'gemologist' so he might know what he's talking about

Yea!!! I did this in the diamond district today also... right after FH & I picked out our wedding bands!!! Jewler did if for free and it is amazing how nice it looks!!!

How long would you boil it for if you did it at home??

Thanks for the info I never thought of going to a jeweler I usually just clean it at home.

When I went to get my ring appraised, the guy sold a jeweler cleaner that actually uses steam. He said I can use it everyday if I want. And I must say it is SHINY!!!
I love it!!

I also got it cleaned in the jewelry district the other day. I think the guy told me to clean it at home I should use 1 part ammonia and 3 parts water. But I just figure I'll keep going to jewelry stores!

I use a mixture of windex and water, then to finish it off, I hold it over the teapot spout with a fork with the steam is pouring out...it comes out gorgeous!

I just had that done also and it truly was cleaner than the day I got it!!! Couldn't believe it. Also, my friends gets her white gold ring rhodium plated and it restores the shine and hue to it if it gets dull and yellowed! It's around $10 or so.

Also, did anyone watch theirs being cleaned?????? I was told not to leave them alone with it, jewelers have been known to switch the diamonds. Food for thought!

Are you supposed to boil it in plain water or should you add anything to it? How long did he say you should boil it for?

I usually just soak my ring in a mixture of windex and water for a minute or so and it works really well, but I've heard that boiling and steaming is amazing!
